The David Crowder Band
I have wanted to meet the David Crowder Band for some time now. Well the other night my buddy Matt Wright gave me the chance. In a purely selfless act he gave up his tickets for me along with meet and greet passes to see David Crowder and third day. I have never been in a situation like this where I get to actually talk to the people who make the music I love to listen to. I was ... um... starstruck. I have never been star struck before but through this comes some pretty funny stories.
First off the night was running a bit late because of some fire marshall stuff. So finally we got our couple minutes of fame in a hallway that was secure. I had a ticket and so did a girl named Kelsey (sorry if I spelled that wrong). So the time came and The David Crowder Band came in.. In walks David Crowder and man he was tall. He walks over and starts talking to Kelsey and as he is doing this he situates himself so that he can talk to her better. In doing this he backs up towards me. I start stepping out of his way as he was about to step on my feet. Thinking that this would be very awkward... hey my toe was broken by David Crowder! As funny as it sounds now I was really worried. So at about that time Jeremy (the drummer) steps in and saves the day. I start talking with him just enjoying the moment and then a couple other guys come in the scene. Talking with them a bit I find out that some have sprint phones and others have verizon. Seeing as I work for sprint I started geeking out with them and show them my 6700. Then a couple of them move on and I start talking to mike.
It truly was a magical experience. I feel like I bombed the whole night though. I totally missed out on about 100 pictures. I missed talking with David Crowder himself. And really just stood there and stared at some of the band members in awe. Dang it I am such a wiener!

Later on that night, after the concert, I met back up with matt. Just shortly I ran into Jeremy again in the Stevens center. He was sitting there doing something on his Mac when I walked by caught his eye and talked to him for a couple more minutes (still no photo... what a dork I am). So Matt finally arrived.. I pointed him in the direction of Jeremy and he went over and talked to him for a bit... As if what happened to me wasn't enough my buddy matt while wrapping up the conversation did something very funny. Jeremy said "hey matt it was great meeting you, I hope to see you next week at willow creek." and then matt says "yeah it was great meeting you too JASON" Jeremy said, "um... Jeremy" Matt said, "well at least I got the J right". DOH.
So all that to say we love The David Crowder Band and that was definitely a night we won't forget.
