Verse of the Day

You will see over to your right a column that says verse of the day. I just thought I would share real quick what I am doing with this.
It was brought to my attention that I could exercise my mind by trying to memorize scripture. By exercising your mind you will strenthen it to be able to read faster, to be able to remember and reatain what you read or learn. And by doing this you could possibly learn a new job faster, or you could impress your friends by memorizing a menu, or your girlfriend or wife by memorizing poems to say to her. So I decided that if I was going to "exercise my mind" that I would put scripture in there so that I can hide God's word in my heart.
I started doing this about three days ago and it really isn't that easy, but it is fun to do.
Here is how I do it. I took an exaple that I found on www.biblicalevangelism.com/ which is found here. This basically says that you take a index card and you write the scripture verse reference at the top of the card. I also put the date up there in the right hand corner as well. Then you write out the verse down below and you place it on a keyring. I changed the keyring idea to putting them in a small envelope which will help me keep it together. Once you have gathered 20 of these verses together you take the oldest one and you put it in a card organizer that has 7 sections that are labled Sunday through Monday. As you add more to your pile of 20 you take one out and put it in the next slot in the box. While you are doing this, everyday you go through and you say out loud each verse in your pile of 20. You repeat each verse three times as well. What I do at this point is I try to say parts if not all of the verse by memory. Now the tricky part comes. When you have started putting cards in your box once you come up to Sunday you pull out those cards and you go over those as well as the 20 in your hand.
Ok, so it sounds confusing. But I believe that by repetition and by practice you will have a lot of verses memorized in a short amount of time. My goal is to fight and beat my Adult-ADD. I think this may work if I can remember what it is later.
Feel free to take either of these ideas and embelish on it. If you have a better idea then let me know.

Welcome

I have built a couple sites for myself in the past. But none really to just express myself. I have decided to use this main page for that. The links you used to find on this page are still here on the right. I will add a pretty banner someday and maybe a couple other tings so check back soon. Thanks for stopping by and I should have more content up as I find stuff.
