Technology

Has technology made our lives harder?
More and more you see people carrying around a cell phone, a laptop, a pda, an mp3 player, a gameing system. And you wonder... is this really easier? Remember when you left work and you were away from work? Do you remember when you would go to the store to get away. Now when you go out your phone rings. Right now I am writing this in my bed on my dell laptop. I am doing work while I am at home sick. Does this technology relaly help matters? Or, make it worse? You worry about missing that call, or missing that email. You are always working even when you are not working. You end up holding down 4 or more jobs even how minor they are. Wireless technology is here to make life easier but when do you turn it off? When do you let your voice mail pick up that call? When do you just stop. And take a nap. Play in the yard with this kids. No SMS messages. No Emails. No laptop. No work. Just play. I think we really need to play again. I think we really need to breathe in the fresh air. I think we really need to turn things off once in a while.
Now... Can I do it? And Can you?
What would happen to this world if we did do this?
What would happen to this world if we didn't have the internet, cellphones, pda's, iPods, gameboy's, PSP's.
Would we be healthier?
Or just happier?

I'LL PLAY WITH YOU CHRIS! I leave the office at the office for the most part. I'll answer calls on my cell from a select few but I refuse to answer the land line. I know if it rings it's for my wife. If you want to reach the E you've got to know my digits. That way I can screen it using my caller id.

I hear ya.. It seems like it is a status quo type of thing too. To have a phone. To have it ring.
I just want to feel again. This is why my recent music craze has come about. To help me feel. To help me Play!
